Ray Greene was named General Manager of Flexicon Corporation (Australia) Pty Limited by John Simonof, vice president of worldwide operations.
He is responsible for developing relationships with equipment suppliers, hiring senior staff and managing the organization, both in terms of administration and manufacturing.
Asked of his intentions, he said, "I plan to use the experience gained in my 35 years in manufacturing to build on Flexicon's 10 years of experience in Australia as a leading manufacturer of quality bulk handling equipment by implementing the systems and philosophy which have served the parent company so well in America, and tailoring them to the local market."
Ray previously held the position of Operations Manager for Custom Conveyors, South Auckland.
"With manufacturing now in Australia, Flexicon can tailor equipment to local standards, offer competitive pricing, ship spares from stock and provide factory-direct service, while drawing on Flexicon's 10,000-plus installations and 30 years of worldwide bulk handling experience," he said, adding, "The company is also in a strategic position to capitalize on the growing market in South East Asia and the South Pacific Rim."
Flexicon Corporation (Australia) Pty Limited is a recently-established, wholly-owned subsidiary of Flexicon Corporation, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA, that engineers and manufactures Flexicon's full line of bulk handling equipment, maintains spares, and provides factory-direct field service for the Australian and Pacific Rim markets.
Other manufacturing subsidiaries of the USA operation are located in Kent, England and Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
