Assembler

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Production Assembler to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assembling products efficiently and accurately within a fast-paced assembly line environment. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble industrial process equipment such as conveyors, bag fillers and bulk material handling equipment comprised of various fabricated components and purchased components.
  • Assembly procedures may involve adjusting, trimming, and fitting parts to moderately close tolerances, working with parts or components which are difficult to handle and other skills which require good dexterity and proficiency with a variety of hand tools.
  • May make minor procedural decisions in fitting and adjusting of parts, etc., but always within established guidelines.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
  • Responsible for the quality of work.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Have a focus on personal safety as well as the safety of others.
  • Moderate mechanical aptitude required.
  • Must be able to work from detailed blueprints, assembly sketches or other input documents of similar complexity.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Experience with various powered hand tools
  • Previous forklift experience is helpful
  • Overhead lifting equipment experience, preferred, not required
  • Attention to detail

Education and experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or a minimum of five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
